Every year, YouTube revisits the most popular music videos of the year for "YouTube Rewind". For the top 10 MVs in Korea, they calculate the list by looking at views, watch times, shares, comments, and likes by Korean YouTube users. And for their trend list, BTS' "DNA" is on the list as the group made their US TV debut this year.
For the list of top 10 MVs, the most popular MV is TWICE's "Knock Knock." After that, TWICE's "Signal", IU's "Palette", Psy's "I Luv It", Psy's "New Face", Red Velvet's "Red Flavor", Ed Sheeran's "Shape of You", Blackpink's "As If It's Your Last", IU's "Through the Night", and Akdong Musician's "Last Goodbye".
About BTS, YouTube writes, "BTS grabbed viewers' attention with colorful hair, dance moves, backdrops, making it the biggest debut by a K-Pop group ever. We couldn't look away from their music video for 'DNA', and the tune racked up over 100 million views." The blurb that YouTube wrote about BTS, of course, doesn't refer to the fact they made their debut this year, as the group made their debut in 2013, but that the group made their debut on US television and that Westerners are learning about them for the first time.
